good deck of low clouds and fog and in the north bay great our valley, napa, santa rosa and some of it moving across the bay so be careful, down to 44 in napa and 50 in livermore. we have clear conditions but we should look for fog along the east bay as well, along hayward and oakland. you can see the visibility is down to nothing at half moon bay and six miles at the san carlos airport. headed out this morning, look if clouds and dense fog in the valleys and along the coast and mid-60's to the upper 70's around the bay. a big warm-up today and the fog comes back tonight and we have a rainy weekend. >> good morning, everyone, we will check on our commute. >> good morning, everyone, happy friday, right now we have a live look outside at the tolls on the bay bridge. it looks like the follow is blanketing the area and traffic is moving through pretty well over there. the golden gate bridge shows fog cleared. now as we head over to menlo park we have an accident involving a couple of cars and deer unfortunately northbound 280. we do not see any slowing and it has been pushed to the righ

towards the north. clear lake as well, moderate rain, and santa rosa, towards petaluma, much of the north bay dry, but you can see the batch of showers rapidly racing towards the coast, and we'll start a second towards novato and santa rosa in the next 30 minutes. i want to point out this thunderstorm cell a little to the north of tracy. this is moving to the north and west and could move into the brentwood area and antioch in the next 25 minutes. numerous lightning strike. a very great slate sky, low clouds. temperatures right now generally in the mid-to-low 60s. san francisco, 60. 55 in half moon bay. here's another look over the bay from our high definition east bay cam. low clouds there as well. napa, 61. 62 in livermore. rainfall totals, quite impressive. a half inch of rain in fairfield. over half inch of rain in the past 24 hours in santa rosa,. you're going to see a little bit more this evening. we'll keep showers, maybe an isolated thunderstorm in the overnight forecast. clearing for monday and then dry and warmer as we head into tuesday and wednesday. here's a look at the cutoff

washington, as well as the 100th birthday of our dear sister rosa parks. as our country continues to celebrate the beginning and as our country continues to celebrate the beginning of the second term of our great president, president barack obama. now, it's easy to take for granted the progress that we've made as a country because we are forever looking to solve today's problems and as we continue to meet tomorrow's challenges as we shape our future. but what it is, it's definitely worthwhile to take a look back at the great works of our predecessor and the brave men and women who have paved the way for progress that we enjoy here in the 21st century. and if you look around, many of those men and women are right here with us in the rotunda today. we remember the people who braved police dogs and fire hoses turned against them by their own government officials in the south, people who believed that an idea -- believed in an idea that we're all created equal and that we're willing to risk and that we're willing to risk their life in the purchase soul of a lofty promise in america. toda

thickest in the north bay valleys, three quarters mile visibility in santa rosa down 101 to novato so, 12, 116, 29, all have fog this morning. headed to half moon bay we have thick fog along the coast. in the afternoon, though, the low clouds lit with mostly cloudy conditions because of the mid-level clouds ahead of the system. it is also bringing a bump up in temperatures and it will be mild from the coast to our inland neighborhoods. steady rain for the commute tomorrow and a chance of rain moves to the north saturday and sunday. it is a small chance but the north bay could get a sprinkle saturday and sunday. the cloud cover shows at 5:00 this morning, notice how it just sits until, say, 10:00, and we start to see it evaporate inland. stubborn around the bay by noon and the low clouds are gone back to the coast and by 3:00 that is when the high and mid-level clouds come in. the 60's and 70's and today is the warmest day in the forecast with low-to-mid 60's along the coast in san francisco and upper 60's to mid-70's around the bay from richmond at 68 to 73 at fremont and palo alto an

santa rosa. warmer in the south bay with 73 in santa teresa. let's get you outside to our live hd sky camera where we have height. we have uplift throughout the afternoon and early evening. there is a lack of moisture so the cloud cover looks like it will produce rainfall. off to the north you can see back to san francisco camera shaking around a little bit. we have a marine layer back at the coast line. it is hard to see not even visible at the golden gate bridge. that is going to be building for tomorrow and that is going to increase our fog. tomorrow morning we can't rule out drizzle at the immediate coast line. some of the drizzle might make it to the bay. temperatures in the low 50s. we will have cloud cover at 8:00 a.m. partly cloudy throughout the noon hour for at least 70% for the bay area. and right near the bay and then by the afternoon temperatures warming up just a little bit with 70 expected inland. mid 60s by the bay and a cool and breezy day. on your three day forecast we stay dry throughout tuesday and wednesday. and if you want the rain that is also coming back as we

still down to three tenths of a mile in santa rosa and only a half mile and napa. into the afternoon the fog will burn off, '60s and '70s. temperatures slightly warmer than yesterday. san jose hitting the 70 degree mark, plenty of low seventies for easily interior valleys. 71 antioch, mid-60s san leandro. downtown san francisco checking in at 62, the low 60s for san bruno, upper 60s expected in santa rosa. later on tonight if your wine to the oakland a's game at all about co, first is at 7 05 p.m. with temperatures in the low 60s. light winds are in the forecast. satellite and radar showed a bigger weather story, dry weather right now as the system we were tracking has continued to work its way east. we have another system sitting in the pacific. it is a slow mover. crawler right now. it is making a beeline toward the bay area. it will take a couple of days to work its way to s but once it gets here, a significant grain. heavy rain will reach the coast line bringing heavy rain to san francisco, the heart of the bay, oakland, even some of our south bay communities. we did see a birds

moving towards santa rosa, not quite making it there yet. but with some of the light rain and showers, we're seeing cloudy conditions, especially along the coast. right now, somewhat limited visibility as you drive across the golden gate bridge. you can't see all the way across the span. temperatures in the 50s for the most part with the exception of santa cruz at 49, 53 in san francisco, 57 in oakland. a live view shows low clouds, gray skies, spotty drizzle. 54 in napa and also in fairfield. basically, visibility not a huge factor. right now it's looking pretty good around the bay area with the exception of half-moon bay reporting one mile visibility. so just right along the coast where it is somewhat limited. you can expect the spotty showers during the morning hours. a chance of them. more showers early tomorrow morning and warming up. monday, we have a big warmup in store for us. if you're heading to the game, you want your wet weather gear handy, sprinkles are possible, but less likely that you'll need them. game starts at 1:05, temperatures near 61, 60 degrees as the gi

. doppler radar scans around right now. live from santa rosa to san francisco. but e vecventually, we are goin get in on some rainfall for this week. the current thing i'm looking at are those winds. they're beginning to be very light here. under 10 miles per hour for most of the bay area. as those winds slacken up, it's good enough for the atmosphere to become very calm tomorrow morning and help some fog form. i think most cloud cover will be at the immediate coast ryan. line. and then we'll see some dense areas of fog that could form. again, very patchy nature. we'll get some by the afternoon there on tuesday with low 70s expected throughout the east and also through the south bay. let's get you to our sky camera network. you can see clear skies here looking to san francisco. it's anticipated to build up tomorrow with that ground fog and crystal clear shock here at the current moment. let's get you back into the future cast here. tomorrow morning, a computer model, i do think, i want to get this out of the way first. it's overdue. i think we'll have that cloud cover at the coastline

rosa in the last hour so we are unsettled, this is how we are going to remain for the weekend. i will show you that in just a moment. 61 napa, 60s concord, 64 mountain view, these numbers warmer than yesterday but you can see all the cloud cover there. we have a westerly breeze light in most cases, fairfield robust, about 17 miles per hour now. take a look here, the satellite and the radar, you can see just a few few pop ups here of those returns, if i back it up a little bit, this is the next system 200 miles off the coastline. i think it may bring us a sprinkle tomorrow morning, the north bay will have a shot and another shot on sunday, so partly cloudy, mostly cloudy, mainly dry into the afternoon, notice that rain line north, so we start out dry, maybe drizzle along the coast saturday, by noontime, 1:00, that line is moving over the north bay, it has broken up, dropped off but it may be our best shot. in san jose partly cloudy, there is sunday, by 8:00 that is crossing over the central bay and we may squeeze out that in the south bay and for the afternoon partly cloudy skies.
